The Versatility of Safety at Sea Training

For anyone who loves to travel, or even simply loves the thrill of being out at sea, there are many perfect jobs available. From working on private yachts and cruise ships even through to cargo vessels and ferries, there are plenty of jobs that can help you enjoy the freedom of the ocean and all the potential peace and tranquillity than can come along with it, and even to see a great deal of the world at the same time.

However, it might not always be obvious exactly what type of work at sea is going to be right for you, and by taking specific training to commit to one type of vocation, you may well find that you spend a great deal of time and money only to end up in a job that is not for you.

However, by taking more general courses, you could open yourself up to a huge range of different career opportunities that let you see the world and get paid for the privilege. That being said, after a very washed out summer, it is likely that more and more people are going to be looking at jobs that allow them to travel to the sun for free and therefore competition may well be strong for any available jobs.

By taking more generalised maritime training, you can stand out far more easily as not only will you be able to start many jobs immediately without further training, but you will also be more appealing to employers as you will save companies or individuals the cost and hassle of putting you through such maritime training themselves.

Any individual working at sea will legally need to take STCW 95 safety training courses. By taking such safety training courses off your own back, you will not only find it far easier to find a job that is right for you, but also far easier to move into a completely different job at sea if you find the role you are in is not for you. Such courses can be found relatively cheaply, so it is wise to hunt around for the best price and you may find that with very little investment, you can be out to sea in no time at all.
