Disinfectant Spray

Years ago, you only really saw disinfectant spray used in clinics and hospitals. However, in the last decade sales of disinfectant sprays designed for use in the home have grown rapidly.

Things to Consider When Buying Disinfectant Spray

If you are looking for a disinfectant spray for your home make sure you buy a good quality product. Remember it is your family you are trying to protect from disease.

Some un-branded products will do a good job, but not all of them will and there is no way of telling which are good and which are not. If you buy a well-established brand with a good reputation, you know that the product you are using in your home will really protect your family. By looking out for special offers and buying in bulk you will find that you can afford the slightly more expensive branded disinfectant sprays.

Because you will be using the spray in your home, make sure you like the way it smells. You and your family are going to have to live with the fragrance on a daily basis, so smell it before you buy.

Make sure that the product you choose is safe to use around children. If you have got pets check that it is OK for them too. Most products are fine provided you follow the instructions, but it is worth double-checking it is designed for home use. If you plan to use your product in the kitchen, make sure that it is designed to be used there.

Check how many bacterias and viruses the product can tackle. The best products will kill 99.9% of harmful viruses and bacterium commonly found in the home.

Using Disinfectant Spray

For your disinfectant spray to be effective, it must be used according to the instructions. Some sprays have to be left in place for a short period of time on a surface before you wipe off any residue with a cloth. Most sprays are sold in the right concentration to use straight away, but if you want to use them, for example, to clean a plastic pet bed you may have to dilute it further, but the instructions will tell you if this is the case.
